Shakespearian monkeys also do Woody Allen

An infinite number of monkies can write Shakespeare, and it seems they can also produce qualty films. Last week, scientists gave a group of bonobo chimps a few video cameras and access to editing equipment, and the chimps fell to their task with vigor. “The first stuff they produced was really dissapointing,” said chimp researcher David Allston. “There were too many cuts, and all the jokes were about defecation. Their last film, 'The Final temptation of Gongon' is a philosophical blockbuster, similar to Woody Allen films not only in depth, but in the characters' proclivity for Grunting.” Look for many more animal-directed films later this year. 10328
