Random butterfly mutation puts man in ICU
In a discovery that shocked the scientific world, New
York resident Dr. William Cole Jr. was bitten by a butterfly earlier this
week when he tried to shoo it away from his study window. The butterfly
broke through the window, gave him a nasty bite, and flew off. He was
rushed to the emergency room, and seven stiches and three quarts of blood
later, he was placed in ICU. This is the first time we've seen anything
like this happen. Ever. At all, said Fred Stover, professor of evolutionary
dynamics at the University of Southern California, The chances of
a random butterfly mutation into a fierce, territorial creature with a
nasty temper and teeth to be reconed with is about the same as the chances
of, directly from primordial soup, a being which could distinguish an
A from an A flat would appear... That's low. 10330 |
